Go, naghain ng panukala para sa continuous provision ng benepisyo para sa health workers sa panahon ng public health emergency

Naghain si Senator Christopher “Bong” Go ng Senate Bill No. 2398 na nagbibigay ng allowances at benepisyo sa mga healthcare workers habang umiiral ang state ng public health emergency dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

“As the coronavirus continuously spreads around the world and the number of infections and deaths proliferate, we see emerging healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic response, selflessly take lifesaving work against the virus,” saad ni Go sa explanatory note ng panukala.

“Millions of medical frontliners have faced the challenge of providing care for patients with COVID-19, while often ill-equipped and poorly prepared, risking their own lives to save the lives of others,” giit pa nito.

Sa ilalim ng SBN 2398, o “Allowances and Benefits for Healthcare Workers Act of 2021”, kasama sa makakatanggap sa benepisyong ito ay ang mga healthcare workers gaya ng medical, allied health professional, administrative at support personnel, employed anuman ang kanilang employment status.

Nakasaad rin dito na fixed ang monthly COVID-19 special risk allowance kada buwan sa kanilang pagseserbisyo ang ibibigay sa kanila sa panahon ng state of national emergency.

Ang allowance ay karagdagan sa hazard pay na ibinibigay sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7305 o ang “Magna Carta of Public Health Workers”.

Magbibigay rin ang panukala ng Active Hazard Duty Pay na exclusively para sa public health workers para sa bawat buwan na sila ay nagsisilbi sa panahon ng national emergency, kung saan ito ay karagdagan rin sa hazard pay na ibinibigay sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7305 o ang “Magna Carta of Public Health Workers”.
