CEBU – “I do not know what they are talking about …”
Ito ang naging sagot ni Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama sa ipinataw na preventive suspension ng Ombudsman laban sa kanya at sa pito pang mga opisyal ng Cebu City Hall.
Nalaman na nagpalabas kaninang umaga ng kautusan ang Ombudsman ukol sa pagpataw ng anim na buwang suspension sa walong opisyal ng Cebu City dahil sa pang-iipit diumano ng sahod ng ilang kawani ng City Hall.
Ang kautusan ay mula Office of the Ombudsman at basi sa sampung pahinang resolution ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires, nakitaan na may sufficient grounds upang mapatawan ng suspension si Mayor Rama dahil may sapat na ebidensya laban sa kanila sa reklamong grave misconduct of unbecoming of public officer, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave abuse of authority, at violation sa code of conduct and ethical standard for public officials and employees.
Nag-ugat ang reklamong ito sa hindi pagbigay ng sahod sa apat na mga regular employees ng City Hall sa loob ng sampung buwan.
Kasama ni Mayor Rama sa naturang suspension order sina City Administrator Atty. Collin Rosell, kanyang misis at city assessor OIC-head Dr. Maria Theresa Rosell, Ass. Dept Head at Legal Officer Atty Francis May Jacaban, Asst. Dept Head of Operation Angelique Cabugao, Admin Division Head Jay-Ar Pescante, Assessment Records Management Division Head Lester Joey Beniga at Computer Division Head Nelyn Sanrojo.
