Sinimulan na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang pamamahagi sa one-time P20,000 pension para sa mga kwalipikadong pensioners ng Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC).
Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, ang ECC pensioners sa parehong public at private sectors ay matatanggap ang kanilang pensyon sa pamamagitan ng kanilang accounts.
Ang Social Security System at ang Government Service Insurance System, ang ECC’s administering agencies para sa private at public sectors, ang maglalabas sa financial assistance sa kanilang pensioners.
Dagdag ni Bello, ang financial assistance ay ire-release sa pamamagitan ng batches sa buong 32,000 pensioners.
Una nang sinabi ni ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis na ang mga qualified pensioners ay hindi na kailangang mag-apply para sa kanilang financial assistance, dahil ito ay ipo-proseso tulad sa kanilang normal pensions.
“EC pensioners in the private sector with at least one month of permanent partial disability (PPD), permanent total disability (PTD), or survivorship pension from January 1, 2020, to May 31, 2021, will benefit from the one-time financial assistance,” saad ni Banawis.
“The EC pensioners have suffered work-related disability and the COVID-19 pandemic compounded their vulnerability as they deal with undue financial hardships,” dagdag nito. // MHEL PACIA
