Ibinasura ng House Committee on Justice ang impeachment complaint laban kay Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen
Sa botong 37 YES, 0 NO, at 0 ABSTENTION, dinismiss ng komite ang reklamo laban kay Leonen na inihain ni Edwin Cordevilla, secretary general ng Filipino League of Advocates for Good Government noong December 2020 na inendorso naman ni Ilocos Norte Rep. Angelo Marcos Barba.
Nagkaisa ang mga mambabatas na “not sufficient in form and substance” ang nasabing complaint dahil wala umanong “personal knowledge” ang nagrereklamo.
Kabilang sa ilang mga mambabatas na ipinababasura ang complaint ay sina Representative Edcel Lagman, House Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez, House Deputy Speaker Benny Abante, at House Deputy Speaker Paolo John Garcia.
Si Rep. Doy Leachon ang nagmosyon na i-dismiss ang reklamo dahil isa umano itong “mere scrap of paper” lamang at ang alegasyon ay di batay sa authentic records o personal knowledge.
Pinangunahan ni House Committee on Justice chair Leyte Rep. Vicente Veloso III ang hybrid set-up para sa impeachment hearing.
